PUEBLO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf team is leading The Sam Proal, hosted by the ThunderWolves at Walking Stick Golf Club, after day one of play.
The Pack shot a superb couple of opening rounds of four-under and nine-under (284-279) to lead by three over Hutchinson Community College. Hutchinson is one of the nation's best junior colleges when it comes to golf talent.
Leading the way for the ThunderWolves was
Callum Kenneally (Duns, Scotland), and
Marius Dosiere (Fouras, France), who both shot four-under on day one. Kenneally fired rounds of 69-71, while the newcomer Dosiere shot rounds of 72-68.
Another newcomer for Head Coach
Josh Koschke made his mark on day one, as
Agustin Pizzorno (Uruguay) opened with a three-over round (75), but bounced back nicely in the afternoon with a two-under round (70).
The Pack's fearless leader
Archie Wyatt (Edinburgh, Scotland/Loretto School) struggled in round one with a three-over 75, but responded nicely in the afternoon with a two-under round (70) to take some momentum into tomorrow.
Thomas Craig (Falkirk, Scotland) had a roller coaster of a day, shooting four-under (68) in round one, and got some bad breaks in the second round, shooting 79.
Evan Smith (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo East) was competiting as an individual for the Pack, putting together two solid rounds of 76-74.
The ThunderWolves are back in action bright and early tomorrow, with play starting at 8:30 AM.Â
