HAYWARD, Calif. - The Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team dropped both games on the Friday doubleheader in the Route 92 Classic.
CSU Pueblo lost their first game to Sonoma State three games to one, and lost their second game at 8:00 PM to Cal State East Bay 3-0.
With the 0-2 Friday, the Pack fall to 4-3 on the season. Sonoma State is 3-2 after Friday, while Cal State East Bay is 4-3.
Sadie Scoville (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleasant Grove) once again tore up the stat-sheet for the ThunderWolves, as the All-American had a great two games on Friday. Scoville in game one had a game-high 19 kill-12 dig double-double to lead the Pack, along with four blocks. In game two, Scoville had 14 more kills to lead CSU Pueblo.
Ceanna O'Loughlin (Beaverton, Ore./Jesuit) had herself a fine day hitting, as the sophomore was second behind Scoville in both games in kills with nine in game one, and 10 in game two.
Sabrina King (Parker, Colo./Lutheran) continued to be a workhorse for Head Coach
Austin Albers, as the senior had 22 assists in game one, and 15 in game two.
Freshman
Hallie Hewlett (Bountiful, Utah/Bountiful) continued to impress early in her collegiate career, as the setter had another fine couple of games, with 35 assists in the two games.
GAME ONE:
CSU Pueblo had their chances in game one against Sonoma State. The score did not reflect how close the game actually was, as CSU Pueblo fell three games to one.
The ThunderWolves took the first set 25-22, but fell in the second set 25-22. A huge third set did not go the ThunderWolves way as they fell 28-26 in the third, despite having their chances.
Sonoma State dominated the fourth and final set, taking the finale 25-17.
GAME TWO:
The ThunderWolves once again had their chances to stop the losing streak, and once again a final score of 3-0 courtsey of Cal State East Bay did not reflect how close the game actually was.
The Pack dropped the first set 25-23, despite having a 19-17 lead late in the set. Once again the ThunderWolves had their chances late in the set, leading 22-21, but could not put away the Pioneers, dropping the second 25-23.
Cal State East Bay dominated the third, winning easily 25-19.
