GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Men's and Women's Track and Field Squads concluded day two of the 2024 Outdoor Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.
The men's squad currently sits in fourth place with 46 total points, while the women's team sits in fifth place with 21 total points. Colorado School of Mines currently both the men's and women's divisions after two days of competition.
The Pack on day two were led by their distance runners.
Matisse Virey (Lyon, France) shined for the ThunderWolves as he took home first place in the men's 3000m steeplechase. Virey ran a time of 9:07.52 to bring home an NCAA Provisional and set a new facility record.
Kaleb Beloy (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage) also shined in the men's 3000m steeplechase as the junior finished third in the event with a time of 9:09.67 and an NCAA Provisional.
Margot Thomas-Gatel (Chapet, Ile-de-France) also had a great showing in the women's 3000m steeplechase as the Frenchie finished third in the event with a time of 10:40.29 and an NCAA Provisional.
Jadyn Herron-Jonap (Queen Creek, Ariz./Casteel) had a solid performance in the women's 800m as she finished seventh with a time of 2:09.28 and another NCAA Provisional for the Pack.
The ThunderWolves also had strong performances in field events on day two.
Febe Wessels (Pretoria, South Africa) finished third in the women's javelin with a throw of 42.04m to bring home an NCAA Provisional.
Zakk Thomas (Kirtland, N.M./Kirtland Central) finished third in the men's javelin with a strong throw of 58.15m, while
Moosah Alsaffar (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) finished fifth in the same event with a throw of 56.83m.
