PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field squad had a successful ending to their 2024 indoor season as the Pack had four throwers compete this weekend at the 2024 NCAA Indoor National Championships on the campus of Pittsburg State University at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
The lone thrower from the men's squad was All-American
Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont./Helena Capital) and he did not disappoint. Jenks who is coming off being named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year had a huge weekend in Kansas as the veteran threw a season best of 18.76 meters in the shot put to bring home a National Runner-Up finish in the event.
On the women's side, junior thrower
Olivia Mikaelian (Albuquerque, N.M./El Dorado) was able to compete in the weight throw and had a solid performance with a throw of 17.29 to bring home 16th place in the Nation.
In the women's shot put the Pack were able to get two throwers on the podium. Junior
Katherine Higgins (Mead, Colo./Ponderosa) was able to finish as a National Runner-Up with an outstanding performance of 15.60 meters, while sophomore
Febe Wessels (Pretoria, South Africa) finished fifth with a throw of 14.80 meters.

Adam Lufkin said, "Today was a huge day. I am thrilled for our throwers to come this far and perform on the highest stage."
