Indoor Track & Field Looks Forward To RMAC Championships

Veteran Throwers Look To Lead The Pack

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Men's and Women's Indoor Track teams are gearing up for this weekends' RMAC Championships which will be held on the Campus of Black Hills State University.

The Indoor Championships are scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 23, and will run through Saturday, Feb. 24. The events are scheduled to being at 9 A.M. on Friday and 10 AM on Saturday.

Head Coach Matt Morris said "We have some great opportunities get our younger guys some action this weekend. We already have some of our athletes who have qualified for nationals, so this is a chance to maximize our opportunities." Morris also said "With the youth of our team, we do have some veterans, mostly the throwers, who will complement the younger athletes. I'm excited for this weekend."

The Pack will rely on their veteran group of throwers to lead CSU Pueblo at Indoors.

Assistant Coach Adam Lufkin said "This is our year for the throwers to shine". Lufkin also said "We have five guys and four girls who are going to be in a good position to score well. I'm looking for the throwers to be the lead for this group. They have come a long way and have a lot of heart and soul."

Graduate Student and thrower Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont./Helena Capital) is a five time All-American and school record holder for the shotput, and junior All-American Katherine Higgins (Mead, Colo./Ponderosa) look to spearhead the Pack in Spearfish.

Thirteen schools will compete on the men's side, while 14 programs will participate on the women's side. Fans can access daily schedules, results, ticketing, merchandise, and live results on the RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships page. Furthermore, all track and field events will be broadcast live on the RMAC Network, accessible through a paywall.
