ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Track and Field teams kicked off their 2024-25 Indoor Season campaign at the Adams State University Early Grizzly Open, having a strong showing, including three NCAA Provisionals.
Febe Wessels (Pretoria, South Africa), and
Katherine Higgins (Ponderosa, Colo./Mead, Colo.) both had two NCAA Provisionals in the women's shot put to lead the ThunderWolves.
Wessels won the shot put event with a throw of 15.14, while Higgins finished runner-up with a throw of 15.05.
Janise Everett (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) put up a strong performance in the women's 200-meters, winning the event with a time of 26.04.
Leyah Martinez won the Women's 60 Hurdles with a time of 9.58 to take home the gold.
Kyla Ruzich won the Women's High Jump with a mark of 1.38.
In the Women's 4x400 Relay, the team of
Riley Wilson,
Janise Everett,
Leyah Martinez, and
Gabrielle Dunich (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Central) won the event, defeating Adams State and Forth Lewis with a time of 4:09.02.
Olivia Mikaelian (Albuquerque, N.M./El Dorado) won the Women's Weight Throw with a mark of 16.26, defeating two ThunderWolves in the event.
Tyrell Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) highlighted the men's side, finishing in second place in the Men's 400-Meters with a time of 48.97, only trailing El-Mir Reale of Adams State.
Tanner Clark won the Men's High Jump for the Pack, putting together a mark of 1.80m to win the event.
