COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Indoor Track and Field squads had strong performances over the weekend to close out 2024, winning three events, and bringing home five NCAA Provisionals over the two-day meet.
The Pack were led over the two-day stretch from distance runner and veteran
Kaleb Beloy (Anchorage, Alaska/South Anchorage). Beloy had a great weekend, winning two events in the meet, also recording two NCAA Provisionals.
On Friday, Beloy won the Men's 3000m Run, dominating the field, winning by over 20 seconds with a time of 8:37.27 to record an NCAA Provisional. Beloy on Saturday won the mile with a time of 4:19.81 to pick up another NCAA Provisional.
Tyrell Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) was the other Pack Runner to win an event in Colorado Springs, as the senior sprinter proved he was the fastest man in the field, winning the Men's 60 Meter Final with a time of 6.88.
Katherine Higgins (Mead, Colorado/Ponderosa), and
Febe Wessels (Pretoria, South Africa), who were both coming off NCAA Provisionals the week before at the Adams State Invitational, backed it up with two more NCAA Provisionals in the Women's Shot Put.
Wessels picked up a runner-up performance in the event with a throw of 14.79m to pick up the provisional, while Higgins had a throw of 14.49m to also pick up a provisional.
