WALNUT, Calif. – Colorado State University Pueblo men's track and field had two of its shot putters invited to compete on Saturday at the Mt. Sac Relays held here at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
The Pack men's shot putters invited to compete at one of the top outdoor track and field meets in the nation annually were senior
Nate Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo./Widefield) and senior
Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont./Helena Capital). Both of them competed in the Elite Division of the meet.
In the event that featured 14 competitors, Miller recorded an NCAA Division II provisional mark of 18.58 meters (60'11.50") to finish in ninth overall. Miller's mark is the sixth-best in Division II this season.
Along with Miller, Jenks finished 13th with an NCAA provisional mark of 17.86 meters (58'7.25").
Miller and Jenks were the only Division II athletes that competed in the shot put at the Mt. Sac Relays.
In the Elite Division shot put, Arizona's Jordan Geist won the event with a mark of 21.25 meters (69'8.75").
