PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team closed out the regular season here Saturday evening with a 66-46 setback to regular season Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion Regis University on Senior Night at Massari Arena.
Prior to the beginning of Saturday's game, the ThunderWolves honored their five member senior class in a pregame ceremony. The 2022-23 Pack women's basketball seniors are guard
Morgan Dial (Denver City, Texas/Western Texas College), guard

Charisse Fairley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Fresno State), guard
Amaya Lewis (Hobbs, N.M./New Mexico JC) and guard

With Saturday's setback, the Pack conclude the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and 11-11 RMAC, while Regis improved to 22-6 overall and 19-3 in the league.
Saturday's game was a preview of this coming Tuesday's quarterfinal round game in the 2023 RMAC Tournament as Regis earned the top seed by winning the regular season title and will host the Pack on Tuesday, Feb. 28 in Denver. Tip-off for the quarterfinal game at Regis will be at 6 p.m.
The Pack, who are the No. 8 seed in the RMAC Tournament after securing its postseason berth with its 75-59 home win on Friday over UCCS, struggled shooting the ball in Saturday's regular season finale as they connected on just 20 of its 61 field goals (33 percent) and made a season-low two three-pointers as they were 2-for-24 (8.3 percent) from the 3-point line.
Fairley led two Pack players in double figures with 15 and added a career-high tying three blocked shots, while sophomore guard
Daeja Johnson (Queen Creek, Ariz./Casteel) added 11 points and a team-high six rebounds. Lewis added eight points off the bench in the loss.
Davis finished the game with four points to move her within five points of becoming the third player in school history to score 1,500 career points. Davis has now scored 1,495 career points.
Lewis didn't shoot much better from the field in Saturday's game as they were 21-for-61 (34 percent) from the field, but 10 of their 21 made field goals were from the 3-point line as they shot 42 percent (10-for-24) from long distance. Those 10 treys were one of the biggest differences in the game. Regis also held a 53-27 edge on the boards, including collecting 18 offensive rebounds that led to 18 second chance points.
After the two teams played it close in the opening period as Regis led 18-12 after the opening quarter of play, the Rangers, who won its first outright RMAC regular season title since the 2006-07 season, outscored the Pack, 21-11 in the second quarter to hold a 39-23 lead at the half.
The Pack opened the third quarter by scoring eight of the first 11 points to cut Regis' halftime lead to 42-31 just three minutes into the period. That would be as close as the Pack would get in the period as Regis scored five straight points to push its lead to 47-31 and would lead 51-37 after three periods of play.
In the fourth quarter, Regis would outscore the Pack, 15-9 to set the final margin.
Erin Fry paced the Rangers with a game-high 22 points, while Josey Ryan added 13 points and nine rebounds and Sam Deem tallied 11 points and seven rebounds. The fourth double-digit scorer for Regis was Erin Stroberg as she had 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
The Pack did force Regis into 17 turnovers as they had 10 steals on the night with Davis leading the way with three steals. The Pack had just 11 turnovers in the game.
CSU Pueblo tied a season high with seven blocked shots.
The Pack were 4-for-5 (80 percent) from the free throw line, while Regis was a perfect 14-for-14 from the foul line.
