ThunderWolves drop season opener against 12th-Ranked Azusa Pacific

LUBBOCK, Texas (November 3, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team started its 2023-24 season campaign on Friday at the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic and dropped a 66-53 contest against No. 12 Azusa Pacific.

Alisha Davis-Little (R-Jr., Aurora, Colo.) recorded a double-double and registered 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Pack.

Landri Hudson (Jr., Aurora, Colo.) finished with a team-high 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting and she sank 3 three-pointers.

As a team, CSU Pueblo shot 32.1 percent from the field and was 6-of-22 (27.3%) from behind the arc. The ThunderWolves went 11-for-15 from the charity stripe.

Starting the game, the Pack went toe-to-toe with the Cougars and after one quarter was tied 12-12 thanks to a trio of three-pointers from the Pack.

The second quarter was a struggle as the ThunderWolves were outscored 20-11 and trailed by nine, 32-23 at halftime.

In the second half, CSU Pueblo's shooting improved and they went 10-of-30 from the field and scored 30 points in the second half.

The Pack scored 22 points in the paint and 12 fast break points.

The bench poured in 15 points for the ThunderWolves.

CSU Pueblo (0-1) returns to the court tomorrow and plays No. 17 Union University starting at 4 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas.
