Track & Field Teams Perform Well on Final Day of New Mexico Team Open

Braybrook Records Third Fastest Time in Division II in 800 Meters; Miller Records No. 1 Shot Put Mark in Division II

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's and women's indoor track and field team concluded the second and final day of action here Saturday at the University of New Mexico Team Open held at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

On Saturday's second day of action, the ThunderWolves competed in nine total events as the CSU Pueblo men competed in five events, while the women's team competed in four events.

In Saturday's action, CSU Pueblo set five season best marks, along with setting a new Division II season best mark in the men's shot put and recording the third best time this season in the women's 800-meter dash.

On the women's side, the highlight of the day for the Pack women came in the 800-meter invitational run as sophomore Helen Braybrook (Frieston, United Kingdom/Oakham School) ran an altitude adjusted time of 2:09.93, which not only was a season best time for CSU Pueblo, it was also the third-fastest time in the event this year in Division II women's indoor track & field. Braybrook was one of five runners to record a time under an altitude adjusted 2:10 as she finished in sixth place in the event. Unattached runner Abbe Goldstein won the event with a time of 2:07.65, while New Mexico's Rebecca Grieve was second with a time of 2:07.91.

Braybook is now one of five CSU Pueblo track and field athletes and the only women's athlete, that have recorded Top 5 marks in their respective events in Division II this season.
