Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Pack Unable to Keep Pace With No. 6 Regis

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 16, 2022) – Colorado State University Pueblo women's lacrosse (1-11, 1-7 RMAC) was unable to hold off the fierce attacks of No. 6 Regis University (14-0, 9-0 RMAC) Saturday afternoon and fell to the Rangers 22-3.

The Rangers jumped to a lead and never relented their attack, as the nation's sixth-best team leapt to an 8-0 advantage after the first quarter saw the ball in the Pack's defensive third often.

Regis then scored one more unanswered goal in the second quarter before the Pack were able to respond. Ashley Hendricks took matters into her own hands and drove inside the eight-meter and fired in her 24th goal of the season.

At the halftime break, the ThunderWolves trailed 14-1 after Hendricks' early-quarter goal. The Rangers squezed off three more scores to kick-off the second half, but once again Hendricks was able to give some life to the Pack.

This time, Hendricks' 25th goal of the season came by way of a free position shot and brought the score to 17-2 with 4:29 to go in the third quarter.

In the fourth, the Pack were able to keep the Rangers at bay and add one more to their tally. Emily Eller was able to drive and juke her way to a goal off a free position opportunity. The ThunderWolves fell to the Rangers 22-3 four minutes later.

The Pack gathered 11 ground balls during the match while Baylee Mee, Hannah Huchette and Eller were all able to pick up two or more.

Hendricks highlighted the Pack efforts with her third brace of the season. The senior now has seven games with two more goals scored, as Hendricks is the leading scorer for the ThunderWolves, now with a career-high 25 goals this season.

CSU Pueblo will be back at home for its final home stand of the 2022 season, as the Pack will Westminster at 6 p.m. on April 22 followed by Colorado Mesa on April 24 at 2 p.m.
