Game Summary

After allowing a lead-off home run, the ThunderWolves responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs to open a 3-1 lead. Welch started things off by drawing a 12-ptich walk, then came around to score when Williams singled and an error by the shortstop moved the players up. Lewis followed with a single up the middle to plate Williams. Lewis made his way to third before an error helped him score.

It wouldn't be until the fifth when the ThunderWolves scored again, as freshman Cole Knightley (INF, Solvang, Calif.) plated Martinez on a single to center to give the Pack a 4-2 lead.

CMU scored twice in the sixth to knot the game up at 4-4.

In the seventh, CSU Pueblo put together four runs on three hits to break open an 8-4 lead. After the Pack loaded the bases, Williams was hit by a pitch and Knightley scored. Lewis then put the ball out to center and scored Brock Rodrigues (So., Utlility, Pueblo, Colo.) and Welch. Finally, Williams scored on a perfect hit and run bunt by Shea.

The ThunderWolves added an insurance run in the eighth when Williams singled through the left side to score Welch.

The Mavericks hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to three at 9-6, but that is where it would stay, as the home team proved victorious.
