PUEBLO, Colo. (April 24, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team dropped a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games, dropping game one 5-1 and falling 3-2 in the nightcap at Rawlings Sports Complex.
The Pack's
Isabel Griego (Jr., Loveland, Colo.) and
Marissa Piatt (Sr., San Luis Obispo, Calif.) both notched two hits on the day.
CSU Pueblo managed five hits in each game and left 13 runners stranded throughout the afternoon.
In game one, Adams tagged Pack starting pitcher
Oakleigh Kearby (Fr., Meridian, Idaho) for three runs, as she scattered four hits and four strikeouts in three innings of work.
The Pack scored their run in the third on a fielder's choice groundout on the infield.
In the second game, CSU Pueblo scored single runs in the fourth and sixth inning and got some traffic on the base paths in the seventh inning before a nice diving catch play by ASU third baseman ended the game with the tying run on base.
Katelynn Ralston (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) hit a sac flyout in the fourth and a RBI-double from Piatt in the sixth inning accounted for the Pack runs.
CSU Pueblo (17-15, 14-14 RMAC) will wrap the series Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Ahead of the games, Pack Head Coach
Christie Koschke and the ThunderWolves will honor six departing student-athletes playing in their final home games as members of the Pack.
