Christie "Zinanti" Koschke finished her eighth season as the head softball at Colorado State University Pueblo. Since coming on to start the 2013 season, she has gone 156-208 overall, and boasts a 132-143 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
Since becoming the fifth bench boss in program history, Koschke has amassed one All-American Honorable Mention, one first team All-Region, two Academic All-Americans, two academic All-Regions, one RMAC Player of the Year, one RMAC Freshman of the Year, 26 All-RMAC picks, one RMAC Gold Glove, and 54 RMAC All-Academic recipients.
Koschke and Co. has reached the RMAC Tournament in five of her eight seasons.
In 2016, the Pack tied a program record with an 11-game win streak from April 3-24. During that span, the ThunderWolves put up a .362 average, 89 runs, and slugged 12 homeruns. The team would clinch the seventh seed of the RMAC Tournament which included an upset win 6-3, over top-seed and No. 20-ranked Colorado Mesa.
Pressed into service on an interim basis in 2013, Koschke fluorished, leading the ThunderWolves to an impressive 29-18 season, earning the fifth most wins ever for the Pack softball program.
Following the successful first season, Koschke was named permanent head coach in July 2013.
A former standout Division I pitcher at Brigham Young University and the top pitcher on two state championship squads at Pueblo West High School, Koschke boasts perhaps the most glowing softball resume of any Pueblo-native women's softball player and coach.
Koschke enjoyed a stellar collegiate career as a pitcher at BYU from 2007-10, leading the Cougars to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including one trip to the Super Regionals where she battled a powerhouse University of Arizona team. She finished her career with 63 wins, second-most in BYU history, earning a slew of honors in the process, including First Team All-Mountain West Conference, MWC Pitcher of the Year in 2009, and First Team All-Region distinctions.
Prior to CSU Pueblo, Koschke was the assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands University in 2012. She helped coach a greatly improved pitching staff that turned in the most wins in program history. Â
Koschke had a stellar prep career at Pueblo West High School where she helped lead the Cyclones to back-to-back state championships in 2004 and 2005.
Koschke and her husband Josh, CSU Pueblo Director of Golf, reside in Pueblo and have one son, Nolan
