PUEBLO, Colo. (April 18, 2021) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's lacrosse team posted a 15-11 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory against Westminster College Sunday at the Art and Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves (4-5, 2-2 RMAC) won each half by two goals for the four-goal victory. The Pack totaled 35 shots with 28 landing on goal. The Griffins (2-5, 2-3 RMAC) placed 18 of their 20 shots on goal. CSU Pueblo went 18-for-24 on its clear attempts and forced WC to go 15-for-31. The ThunderWolves picked up 34 ground balls, 10 more than the Griffins. The Pack totaled 16 draw controls, while Westminster had 11.Â

Prior to the game, the ThunderWolves celebrated seven 2021 seniors and a 2020 senior that missed out on a senior day last year.Â

Emily Eller (A, Keller, Texas) scored five goals and added a career high 10 draw controls.Â

Ashley Hendricks (A, Hood River, Ore.) scored twice in the second half and totaled two ground balls with a caused turnover.Â

SUMMARY
Â
The ThunderWolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead during the first five minutes of the game, as Lessick put the Pack ahead 33 seconds into the contest. Goals by Tener and Eller then moved the score to 3-0.

Westminster won the next 10 minutes 3-1, as Eller scored her second of the day and CSU Pueblo was ahead 4-3.Â

After trading a pair of goals each, Eller responded to a Griffins goal with 20 seconds left when she potted a goal with five seconds remaining and the ThunderWolves led 7-5 at the half.Â

Eller scored the first goal of the second half and Lessick netted her third of the day to give the Pack a 9-5 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Westminster then made a push during the next 10 minutes of clock time with a 5-2 advantage and were within one at 11-10 with 10:14 remaining.

The ThunderWolves won the ensuing draw control and then went on the player advantage, as the Griffins committed two yellow cards. Tener took advantage with a player-up goal with 7:46 left, which started a 4-0 run by CSU Pueblo.Â

Sedona Sargent (Fr, Bellingham, Wash.), Eller and Hendricks put the game away at 15-10 with 1:36 left. Westminster scored their final goal with 24 seconds on the clock, as the ThunderWolves posted the 15-11 victory.Â
