ThunderWolves suffer two RMAC losses Saturday

DENVER (March 27, 2021) – The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball team lost a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games Saturday in Denver, as the Pack lost 13-0 against No. 18 Metro State University of Denver and 9-7 to Colorado Christian University.

In game one, Roadrunner (17-1, 13-1 RMAC) pitcher Cade Crader threw a perfect game.

In game two, the ThunderWolves (7-12, 5-10 RMAC) trailed 7-1, but battled back and scored five runs on five hits in the sixth and added a single run in the seventh to knot the contest 7-7. In the bottom half of the eighth, the Cougars (5-9, 4-7 RMAC) produced a two out, two-run homerun to take the 9-7 lead. CSU Pueblo had the top of its order due up in the ninth, but could only produce one base hit and suffered the loss.

The Pack totaled 11 hits against CCU and allowed 10.  Ty Lewis (Jr., INF, Pleasant Grove, Utah), Aidan Welch (INF, Seattle, Wash.) and Reggie Williams (So., 1B, Castle Rock, Colo.) all had two hits and a run scored, while Welch and Williams each added an RBI.

Catcher Daniel Abiles (Sr., Chandler, Ariz.) produced two RBI on his sixth inning hit and scored a run on a Williams double in the sixth. Welch recorded the game-tying RBI in the seventh.

The ThunderWolves finish the weekend Sunday playing the Roadrunners in a nine inning game beginning at 1 p.m.
