ThunderWolves Knock Off Mountain Lions 66-56

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 8, 2021) – Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball defeated University of Colorado Colorado Springs 66-56 Monday night at the Gallogy Events Center.
 
Turning Point:
CSU Pueblo trailed 16-9 after one and 33-26 at the half. The Pack fell behind by as many as 10 in the third quarter. However, they would rally to cut the Mountain Lions lead to 44-42 heading into the final frame.
 
The Pack took over in the fourth quarter. A 15-2 run boosted the Pack into a 57-49 lead.  The Mountain Lions closed with four, but the Pack closed the game on a 9-3 run to close out a 66-56 win.

Individual Highlights:
  - Aubriana Noti (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) dominated with a double-double. Noti led all scorers with a career-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.  She drained two clutch free throws down the stretch for the Pack. Noti also matched a season-high with 13 rebounds. 
 
- JaNaiya Davis (Jr., Waco, Texas) almost picked up a triple-double of her own.  Davis delivered 10 points. She also secured nine rebounds and eight assists. Defensively, Davis contributed three blocks and three steals.
 
.- Jazzy Hughes (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) totaled 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Hughes knocked down 5-of-5 at the line.
 
- Jalen Long (So., Moreno Valley, Calif.) scored 11 points. Long knocked a trio of 3-pointers. She also sank a pair of free throws down the stretch.
 
Coach Johnson Quote:
"Our girls just fought through a fast start by UCCS," CSU Pueblo Head Basketball Coach Tommie Johnson. "We executed better on both sides of the ball. We played inside through Noti then we got everybody else involved. Go Pack!"

Notes:
- The ThunderWolves outscored the Mountain Lions 40-23 in the second half, including  a 24-12 advantage in the second quarter.
 
- The Pack made 17-of-18 at the free-throw line (94.4 percent).  UCCS only attempted three free throws.

Up Next:
The Pack heads west for a meeting with Westminster College Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
