PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 27, 2021) – The (RV) Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team (4-1) once again coasted by its opponent and defeated Friends University (4-2) 83-45 Saturday evening to close out the Thanksgiving Classic hosted in Massari Arena.
Â
The ThunderWolves took the lead off-the-bat and never looked back, as CSU Pueblo did not trail once throughout the night. AÂ
Ro Dominguez 3-pointer near the tail-end of the first quarter catapulted the Pack to an 11-point lead.Â
Â
AÂ
Sydni Williams layup at the end of the quarter put the CSU Pueblo team on top 20-7 after one quarter of play.
Â
The second quarter began with a bang offÂ
Morgan Dial's 3-pointer. Dominguez later hit back-to-back shots from long range to grow the deficit to 22 points with plenty of time in the first half remaining.
Â
After anÂ
Aubriana Noti layup at the end of the quarter, the Pack maintained a 52-30 lead over the Falcons at the break.
Â
After another Dominguez bucket, the ThunderWolves swelled the lead to 34 points, but the Falcons were not done. Friends landed a handful of shots and dwindled the Pack lead to 25 with 4:20 remaining in the third.
Â
The Pack were not deterred and aÂ
Jalen Long 3-pointer was drained to expand the lead to 30 points once more.
Â
Ahead by 33 headed into the fourth, the Pack could coast to victory.Â
Torie Bass andÂ
Amaya Lewis sank back-to-back 3-pointers followed by another basket by Dominguez to swell the lead to 40.Â
Daeja Johnson's 3-pointer later grew the lead to an evening's most 41 points.
Â
CSU Pueblo cruised to an 83-45 win over the Falcons and clinched its fourth-straight win. The 38-point win was the fourth-straight by over 35 points and was the third-straight win that featured holding opponents to 50 points or fewer.
Â
Dominguez notched 15 points and five rebounds on top of three steals. Williams shot 6-8 from the floor and logged a team-high eight rebounds while she added on 13 points to the tally.Â
Â
