PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 26, 2021) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team (3-1) defeated the University of the Southwest (1-7) 97-48 in another domineering blowout. This is the ThunderWolves' third consecutive win with a scoring margin of 40 points or more.

The Pack wasted no time in jumping on the Mustangs early in the first quarter. It took just 4:27 to put the ThunderWolves ahead 12-4.Â

The Pack then took advantage of Mustangs mistakes and extended the lead to 20-7 after a jumper was followed up by a 3-pointer fromÂ
Ro Dominguez. Another Dominguez three capped off the Pack's opening quarter and put CSU Pueblo ahead 25-12 after one period of play.

It took five minutes into the second quarter before the Pack began to pad their lead even more. The ThunderWolves went on a 10-0 run kickstarted by aÂ
Jazzy Hughes layup.

Dominguez dropped in another shot with just seconds on the clock to give the ThunderWolves a convincing 49-23 advantage at the break. In just the first half, Dominguez had 12 points whileÂ
Torie Bass had already nabbed four steals.Â

Out of the break, the Pack did not look back. The Mustangs would not close the deficit to anything less than 20 points for the remainder of the game and ThunderWolves continued to put fuel on their offensive fire.

Amaya Lewis'Â layup with 3:40 remaining in the third quarter boosted the lead to 30 points for the first time in the evening.Â
Daeja Johnson later piled on with a 3-pointer and the Pack headed into the fourth ahead by 33 points.

With the win already secured, CSU Pueblo coasted to the finish. Five straight points byÂ
Sydni Williams midway through the fourth upped the margin to 43 points. The defense refused to yield and the Mustangs could not string point together.

The Pack clinched the Thanksgiving Classic 97-48 win over Southwest and moved to 3-1 on the young season.Â

Lewis and Dominguez each finished with 14 points for the nightand contributed elsewhere as well. Dominguez pulled down five rebounds while Lewis dished out six assists.

Bass and Johnson each contributed 13 points off the bench. Johnson shot lights out from 3-point land, splashing home 3-4 from long-distance. Bass finished with six steals.

Williams rounded out the double-digit scoring efforts, as the forward dropped 12 points and pulled down five rebounds.

Kansas Watts led the Pack with eight rebounds and tacked on seven points to help out the team.

The ThunderWolves will be back in action Saturday at 5 p.m. as they finish off the Thanksgiving Classic in a clash with Friends University.
