Pack Dominate Park 102-50 to Close Out Al Kaly Classic

PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 20, 2021) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team closed out the 2021 Al Kaly Classic and dominated its way to a 102-50 victory over Park University Gilbert to score the most points in a single game since Jan. 19, 2007.

Capped off by a Jazzy Hughes bucket, the ThunderWolves started the night off with a 9-2 run. The Pack were able to put together a 17-8 first quarter and take an early nine-point lead.

The second quarter started off with a bang as well. For the second straight quarter, the Buccaneers struggled to fight off the Pack's offensive attacks while the ThunderWolves sprinted ahead by double digits thanks to a 7-0 run to begin the period.

Alisha Davis and Janaiya Davis used each other next and then again pulled away with a 12-0 run. Alisha Davis capped off the 12-0 run with a jumper off a Jalen Long assist.

The ThunderWolves continued to dominate with steals through the end of the half and ended the second quarter with a 43-20 lead.

Morgan Dial started the second half off with back-to-back 3-pointers from deep off Janaiya Davis assists. Ro Dominguez then caught fire and went on a solo 8-0 run in just 50 seconds for CSU Pueblo.

Torie Bass began another 8-0 run which was capped off by an Alisha Davis 3-pointer. The explosive third quarter ended on a high note as Daeja Johnson dialed up a deep-two as time expired and sunk in the bucket at the buzzer. Johnson's basket put the Pack up 80-35 after outscoring Park 37-15.

The fourth quarter was all CSU Pueblo coasting its way into victory. A back-and-forth quarter still had the Pack outscoring the Buccaneers 22-15 and ultimately led to the dominant 102-50 win for the ThunderWolves.

Alisha Davis ended the night with a game-high 18 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks to lead the ThunderWolves while Janaiya Davis dropped eight points while dishing out seven assists and pulling down nine rebounds.

Aubriana Noti scored a season-high 13 points off 3-5 shooting. Dominguez finished the night with 12 points after shooting 2-2 from deep. Bass and Dial rounded out the dominant scoring night with 11 points apiece.

The ThunderWolves' supremacy was much do to the efforts of 60 combined points off the bench. 27 points were gained off of fast breaks and 29 were from turnovers from Park.

CSU Pueblo will host the Thanksgiving Classic Nov. 26 at Massari Arena, as the team faces University of the Southwest on Friday and Friends University on Saturday.
