DENVER, Colo. (January 19, 2021) -
A cold-shooting third quarter proved costly for Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball in a  72-54 loss to Metropolitan State University Denver Tuesday at the Auraria Events Center.

Turning Point:
The Roadrunners held a 34-28 advantage late in the second quarter.  JaNaiya Davis (Jr., Waco, Texas) hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it 34-31 at the half.

The Pack could not keep the momentum going in the third. MSU Denver outscored the ThunderWolves 26-7 in the third, making it 60-38 heading into the final stanza.  The Roadrunners outshot the Pack 61.5 percent to 17.5 percent in that frame.  The Pack finished the game on an 8-0 run, but it was not enough.

Individual Highlights:
- Sydni Williams (Sr., Little Rock, Ark.) led the ThunderWolves with 16 points. She finished 5-of-11 from the field including 2-of-5 from downtown. Williams was a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. Narrowly missing a double-double, Williams hauled in nine rebounds.

- Morgan Dial (Jr., Denver City, Texas) scored a season-high 12 points. Dial knocked down four 3-pointers on nine attempts.

- Aubriana Noti (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. Eight of Noti's 11 points came in the first quarter.

 - Ellie Till (Cañon City, Colo.) scored her first two points in a Pack uniform at the free throw line. She added two rebounds in just two minutes.

Coach Johnson Quote:
"They threw a couple punches and we weren't able to punch back," said CSU Pueblo Head Women's Basketball Coach Tommie Johnson"That's usually not our girls."

Notes:
- The Pack only turned it over six times. This is their lowest total number of turnovers in a game since Jan. 30, 2016.

- The Roadrunners held a 50-27 advantage on the glass. They outshot the Pack 49.1 percent to 30.2 percent from the field.
