PUEBLO, Colo. (January 4, 2020) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball could not overcome Regis University's hot-shooting as the Pack took a 74-65 loss Saturday at Massari Arena.
The Pack made 40.7 from the field. However, Regis shot over 50.9 percent from the field.
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) scored a career-high 27 points. Davis drained 12-of-23 from the field. She dished out six assists. Defensively, Davis added two steals, a block, and five rebounds.
Khiya Adams (Sr., Falcon, Colo.) added 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting. Adams came away with a career-high six steals.
The first quarter belonged to the Pack. They led by as many as seven in the opening period. Regis got a pair of free throws to cut the Pack's lead to 21-16 after one.
After scoring the first three points of the second quarter, the Pack held their biggest lead of the game at 24-16. Regis scored the next 12 points to claim the lead. The Rangers took a 33-28.
Regis opened the second half on a 7-2 run that pushed their lead to doubled-digits. The Pack closed the second quarter down four at 48-44.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Rangers took control. They went on a 10-0 run that made it 66-51. Regis rolled to a 73-64 victory.
The Pack will hit the road for a pair of games starting Friday at Western Colorado University. Tip off between the Pack and Mountaineers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
