DURANGO, Colo. (December 7, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball wound up on the short end of a 67-54 final score against Fort Lewis College Saturday night.
The loss ended the Pack's string of 12 consecutive victories against the Skyhawks. CSU-Pueblo now stands 2-5 overall with a 1-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Fort Lewis improved to 6-1 (2-0 RMAC).
Sydni Williams (Jr., Little Rock, Ark.) swatted a season-high three blocks. Williams also added 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from the line. She had eight rebounds.
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) led the Pack with 15 points. Davis came away with four steals and a block. She made 7-of-14 fro the field, before fouling out.
Jade Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) tacked on 10 points. Adams drained 4-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 at the line.
Jordyn Keck (So., Pueblo, Colo.) scored a career-high six points. Keck made 4-of-4 at the line.
The Skyhawks came out on fire, scoring the game's first 10 points. The Pack kept pace with them after this run, and finished the first quarter, trailing 20-12.
In the second quarter, the ThunderWolves scored the first five points to trim Fort Lewis' lead to three. The Skyhawks pushed back, ending the half on a 9-1 run to make it 33-23 at the break.
The second half started similarly to the first. Fort Lewis scored the first nine points of the third quarter to take a 19-point lead. CSU-Pueblo could not get back within single digits again as the Skyhawks won 67-54.
The Pack will return home Friday Dec. 13 to face Westminster College. Tipoff between the Pack and Griffins is set for 5:30 p.m.
