Greyhounds sprint past ThunderWolves in fourth quarter

CANYON, Texas (November 29, 2019) – A cold-shooting fourth quarter prevented Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball from defeating Eastern New Mexico University Friday as the Pack lost to the Greyhounds 77-59 in the Pak-a-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic.
 
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt,, Texas) led the Pack with 16 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the field. She made 5-of-6 from the line. Davis had three steals and five assists in the loss.
 
Jade Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) totaled a career-high 12 points. Adams made 6-of-15 from the field. She hauled in seven rebounds and swatted two blocks in 34 minutes before fouling out.
 
Entering the fourth quarter, the Pack trailed by just two at 47-45. However, the Greyhounds caught fire, outscoring the ThunderWolves 30-14 in the fourth.
 
A 6-0 run helped the Greyhounds take a 14-9 lead after one. The Pack started the second quarter on a 10-0 run that carried them to a 19-14 lead. This was the Pack's biggest lead of the game.  Eastern New Mexico answered with nine straight points to reclaim the lead. They held a 29-23 lead at halftime.
 
Down as many as nine early in the third quarter, the Pack rallied to take a 41-39 lead. An 8-0 run from the Greyhounds vaulted them back in front. Four consecutive Pack points allowed CSU-Pueblo to cut it to two heading into the third quarter.
 
A three-pointer by Harmony Pettis (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) put the Pack in front 48-47. Holding a 57-54 lead, Eastern New Mexico scored 20 consecutive points to pull away. They won 77-59.
 
The Pack will look to get back in the winners circle Saturday when they face West Texas A&M University at 1:30 p.m.
