PUEBLO, Colo. (October 5, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball dispatched Colorado Christian University in a dominating sweep (25-21,25-18, 25-18) Saturday at Massari Arena.
The Pack hit .323 for the match, their second time hitting above .300 this season. CSU-Pueblo held the Cougars to a .136 hitting clip thanks to 11 blocks.
Jazzy Espinoza (So., Cheyenne. Wyo.) swatted eight blocks. Espinoza incredibly knocked down seven blocks in the first set. She also dropped in three of the Pack's four service aces.
Kelsey Bell (Sr., Los Lunas, N.M.) led the Pack with 18 assists. Bell also knocked down three kills including the match-winner. She hit .750.
Maddy Wisniewski (Jr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Pack with nine kills. Wisniewski hit .353 for the match and added two blocks.
Payton Stack (Jr., Casper, Wyo.) spiked down six kills. Stack accounted for five blocks. She hit .500 for the match.
Diamond'Nique Young (Fr., Fresno, Calif.) hit .455 for the match, while
Sarah Vang (Sr., Parker, Colo.) hit .438. Vang totaled seven kills while Young knocked down six kills. Both Vang and Young had three blocks.
Kyle Meltzer (Jr., Fort Collins, Colo.) narrowly missed a double-double. Meltzer finished with a team-high 10 digs and eight assists.
With their win, the Pack has already surpassed their win total and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win total from last season. They now stand 6-9 (4-3 RMAC). The Pack has also surpassed its number of total blocks from last season with 135 total blocks. CCU fell to 6-9 (2-5 RMAC).
The ThunderWolves will continue their four-match homestand Friday Oct. 11 when they welcome Fort Lewis College to Massari Arena. This RMAC contest between the Pack and Skyhawks is slated for 7 p.m.
