GOLDEN, Colo. (October 18, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball fell to the Colorado School of Mines in three sets (21-25, 15-25, 19-25) Friday at the Volk Gymnasium.
The Pack now stands 7-11. They own a 5-5 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Mines improved to 14-4 (7-3 RMAC). The Orediggers outhit the Pack .418 to .135.
Brooke Schilling (Jr., Platteville, Colo.) planted a team-high nine kills. Schilling hit .238 for the match.
CSU-Pueblo stuck with the Orediggers for most of the first set. A 5-1 run put the Orediggers up 18-11. The Pack rallied to close within one at 21-20. The Orediggers scored four of the next five points to take the first set.
Mines took control in the second hitting .552. They finished the second set on an 11-4 run. They completed the sweep in the third set with a 25-19 victory.
The Pack will look to bounce back Saturday when they face Steel & Silver trophy rival University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Pack and Mountain Lions will serve it up in Colorado Springs at 5 p.m.
