Hot shooting Pack runs past Regis 85-75

Box Score DENVER, Colo. (January 5, 2019) – A 15-point run propelled Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball to an 85-75 win over Regis University Saturday at the Regis Fieldhouse.
 
The Pack made an incredible 65.3 percent from the field (32-of-49). They also outscored the Rangers 42-24 in the paint. 
 
Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored 22 points. Knafelc was a perfect 6-of-6 form the field including a 5-of-5 from downtown. She made 5-of-6 from the line. The senior also dished out seven assists.
 
Khiya Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.)  delivered 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting. She pulled down 12 rebounds to earn her fourth double-double of the season. Adams blocked a career-best three shots. She now has 20 or more points in five of her last six games.
 
Naomi Torgerson (Jr., Anoka, Minn.) tacked on 13 points. Torgerson made 4-of-4 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line. She came away with four steals for the second consecutive night. Torgerson added five rebounds.
 
JaNaiya Davis (Fr., Hewitt, Texas) netted 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Davis delivered four rebounds.
 
Fellow freshman Kansas Watts (Houston, Texas) came off the bench with eight points. Watts made all four of her shots from the field.
 
Regis took a 14-10 lead midway through the first quarter. The rest of the first quarter belonged to the Pack as they went on a 15-0 run that made it 25-14 after one.
 
Throughout the rest of the game, the Pack's hot shooting kept the Rangers at a safe distance.  Regis rallied within five early in the third quarter, However, they would never get any closer as the Pack pushed their lead back to double digits later in the third. The ThunderWolves rolled to an 85-75 victory.
 
CSU-Pueblo now stands 6-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. They are 8-5 overall. Regis stumbled to 7-5 (3-4 RMAC).
 
After a month on the road, the Pack will finally return to Massari Arena to host a two-game homestand. The Pack will welcome Western Colorado University to Pueblo Friday at 5:30 p.m. and face Colorado Mesa University Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
