Pack returns from break with visit to CCU & Regis

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 3, 2019) - After two weeks away, Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball will return to competition when they visit Colorado Christian University Friday and Regis University Saturday. Both games start at 5 p.m.

The Starting 5 – The top five Pack storylines
1. In their last game before the break, the Pack rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Dixie State 73-70. The Pack held Dixie State scoreless for the final 5:49 of the game. JaNaiya Davis (Fr., Hewitt, Texas) scored the game-winning basket with 15 seconds left.

2. Khiya Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) recorded her third double-double of the season in the win over the Trailblazers. Adams had 20 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. She also had two blocks and four steals. Adams ranks fifth in the RMAC with 7.6 rebounds per game. Her 13.5 points per game place her second on the Pack.

3.  Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.)leads the Pack with 13.6 points per game. She has scored 11 or more points in each of her last eight contests. Knafelc has made 60.4 percent of the team's 3-pointers.

4. Davis ranks fifth in the RMAC with 4.1 assists per game. Her 2.0 steals per game is good for sixth in the conference. Knafelc ranks seventh in the RMAC with 1.9 steals per game.

5. Adams ranks second in the RMAC in field goal percentage, making 53.9 percent from the field. Since the start of RMAC play Adams has made 60.0 percent from the field, the highest percentage among qualified players in the conference.

Series History:
The ThunderWolves hold a 26-19 lead in the all-time series against the Cougars. CSU-Pueblo won both meetings last year, including a 69-44 victory in Lakewood, Colo. The Pack trails the Rangers in the all-time series 37-22. CSU-Pueblo won last year's meeting 52-51.

Scouting Colorado Christian:
- The Cougars are 5-6 overall. They are 3-2 in RMAC play. Colorado Christian started 3-0 in RMAC play, before dropping their last two games to Colorado School of Mines and University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The Orediggers beat the Cougars 71-36.

- Jordan Baer ranks second in the RMAC with 19.5 points per game. Baer leads the RMAC with a 55.6 percent make rate from the field. Baer also leads the Cougars with 1.2 blocks per game and 7.0 rebounds per game.

- The Cougars have struggled from the line. They make just 61.9 percent of their free throws, the worst percentage in the RMAC.

Scouting Regis:
- The Rangers enter the weekend with a 6-4 record overall. They are 2-3 in conference play after splitting with Mountain Lions (W) and Orediggers (L).

- Shelby Espinosa leads the RMAC with 9.2 rebounds per game. She has 10 or more boards in three of her last four games.

- Regis is the worst shooting team in the RMAC, making just 34.8 percent from the field. The Rangers also struggle to defend the 3-point line. Opponents make a league-high 35.0 percent from downtown against Regis.
