PUEBLO, Colo. (October 14, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 match versus Colorado Mesa University Sunday on a cold, brisk day at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

On the coldest day of the season thus far, both teams did all they could to remain warm and loose on the pitch.

Colorado Mesa's Lauren Thompson accounted for all three scores in the first half for the Mavericks. She finished with a game-high six shots.

In the first half, CMU got on the board in the 17' and jumped to a two score lead six minutes later on a pair of deflected shots that landed in the right spot at the right time for the Mavericks.

Pack reserve Justine Martinez (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) led the team with her three shots and one on goal in the first half.

CSU-Pueblo earned two corners against the Mavericks three in the period.

CMU scored the third goal in the 32' when Thompson shot high and under the crossbar for the score.

In the second half, the ThunderWolves offense came alive as Karley Whiteman (Sr., Alta Loma, Calif.) hit four shots and two on goal to try and get the Pack on the board.

Cara Siegel (So., Pueblo, Colo.) finished with three shots.

The Pack had seven of their sixteen shots land on goal in the contest.

Pack goalkeeper Rylie Martin (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished with six saves against seventeen shots by CMU.

CSU-Pueblo (7-4-2, 4-4-1 RMAC) stays home next week and completes the home portion of the schedule. Friday the Pack will take on Westminster (UT) at 7 p.m. and will play conference-newcomer Dixie State at 1 p.m. on Senior Day. Both matches at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
