PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 25, 2026) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in winning fashion Sunday afternoon, using a pair of second-half goals from Abby Menk and Jenna Elledge to secure a 2-0 shutout victory over New Mexico Highlands in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
With the victory, the ThunderWolves improved to 5-9-3 overall and 3-6-2 in RMAC play, while New Mexico Highlands fell to 0-15-1 overall and 0-11-0 in conference action.
Sunday's victory marked the second consecutive shutout win for the Pack, which defeated Adams State by an identical 2-0 score Friday evening. The two victories keep CSU Pueblo's postseason hopes alive heading into Wednesday's regular-season finale.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the ThunderWolves wasted little time breaking through in the second half.
Menk put the Pack on the scoreboard in the 50th minute, finding the back of the net at the 49:33 mark for her fifth goal of the season. The unassisted strike proved to be the game-winner and gave CSU Pueblo a 1-0 advantage.
Just seven minutes later, Elledge doubled the ThunderWolves' lead in the 57th minute, scoring her second goal of the season off an assist from senior Madi Reardon at the 56:33 mark to push the lead to 2-0.
The two-goal cushion proved more than enough for the Pack, as CSU Pueblo's defensive unit kept the Cowgirls off the scoreboard for the remainder of the afternoon.
CSU Pueblo controlled much of the offensive action throughout the contest, outshooting New Mexico Highlands 18-6, including a commanding 10-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Despite being held scoreless in the opening half, the ThunderWolves generated several quality scoring opportunities, recording 10 first-half shots and forcing New Mexico Highlands goalkeeper Haylee Driscoll into four saves.
Reardon tested Driscoll twice in the opening 23 minutes, while Baylie Reedy also put an attempt on frame in the 17th minute. CSU Pueblo nearly broke the deadlock just before halftime when Caytlynn Garland struck the crossbar with only 20 seconds remaining in the period.
The Pack carried that offensive momentum into the second half, where Menk and Elledge capitalized on their opportunities to put the match out of reach.
Defensively, CSU Pueblo limited the Cowgirls to just two second-half shots and did not allow a single shot on goal throughout the 90-minute contest.
Freshman goalkeeper Jamie Noriega earned the victory and recorded a clean sheet in her first start of the season, playing all 90 minutes between the posts.
Offensively, Reardon and Maya Bethelmie led the ThunderWolves with three shots apiece, while Menk and Avery McMullen each recorded two shots on goal. Reardon also collected the lone assist of the afternoon.
Driscoll finished with eight saves for New Mexico Highlands, including four in each half.
The ThunderWolves also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sunday's contest served as Senior Day for CSU Pueblo, as the program recognized its graduating student-athletes for their contributions to the ThunderWolves both on and off the pitch.
With two consecutive victories and back-to-back shutouts, the Pack will now turn its attention to the regular-season finale with an opportunity to continue its late-season momentum and strengthen its postseason chances.
