PUEBLO, Colo. (October 23, 2026) – Behind goals from Baylie Reedy and Abby Menk and a strong defensive performance, the Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team earned a crucial 2-0 shutout victory over Adams State Friday evening in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
With the victory, the ThunderWolves improved to 4-9-3 overall and 2-6-2 in RMAC play, keeping their postseason hopes alive as the regular season winds down. Adams State fell to 5-10-1 overall and 1-9 in conference action.
The Pack wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, finding the back of the net just six minutes into the contest. Reedy netted her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Caytlynn Garland to give CSU Pueblo an early 1-0 advantage.
Despite Adams State holding a 3-1 advantage in first-half shots, the ThunderWolves' defense stood tall behind goalkeeper Ella Bulfer, who turned away both shots on goal she faced in the opening 45 minutes to preserve the one-goal lead heading into halftime.
CSU Pueblo carried that momentum into the second half, doubling its advantage less than five minutes after the break.
Following an Adams State foul inside the penalty area, Menk stepped up to the penalty spot and buried her attempt at the 49:36 mark for her third goal of the season, extending the Pack's lead to 2-0.
The ThunderWolves continued to apply offensive pressure following the score, as Menk nearly added another goal in the 53rd minute, but her shot was turned away by Adams State goalkeeper Mariely Jimenez.
Adams State looked to cut into the deficit midway through the second half, generating a pair of shots on goal in the 58th and 61st minutes. However, Bulfer was up to the challenge on both attempts, keeping the visitors off the scoreboard.
The Grizzlies had another opportunity in the 72nd minute when Aja Lister's shot struck the right post, but the Pack's defense held firm throughout the closing minutes to secure the shutout victory.
Bulfer finished the evening with four saves across 90 minutes between the posts, earning the clean sheet in her first recorded decision of the season.
Offensively, CSU Pueblo finished with five shots, placing four on frame, while Adams State registered seven shots with four on target. Menk led the ThunderWolves with two shots, both on goal, while Reedy and Garland each recorded a shot on frame.
Reedy's opening goal proved to be the game-winner, while Garland collected her assist on the play. The ThunderWolves also capitalized on their lone penalty kick opportunity of the evening.
The victory marked a critical result for Head Coach John Constable and the ThunderWolves as they continue their push for a potential berth in the RMAC Tournament.
