PUEBLO, Colo. (May 25, 2016) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Wednesday that Colorado State University-Pueblo baseball senior Jordan Godman (Las Vegas, Nev.) earned Second Team All-American honors. This award makes Godman the 20th All-American in CSU-Pueblo baseball history.
Godman has also received First team All-Region from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers, the Collegiate Commissioners Association and the American Baseball Association/Rawlings. He has become the first Pack player to sweep these honors since Scott Hoyt in 2013.
In 2016 Godman has earned the following awards:
- CCA South Central Region Player of the Year
- Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year
- NCBWA South Central Region Player of the Week March 17
- RMAC Player of the Week March 8, March 15, April 19
- Tino Martinez Award Semifinalist (2015, 2016
- Art & Lorraine Gonzales Perseverance Award
- Hero Sports Network D-II Player of the Year Award Fan Vote Finalist
He also led the RMAC in batting average (.454)… Ranked seventh in the nation in batting average…Only RMAC Player ranked in the top 5 in all three triple crown categories…First in the conference in slugging percentage (.705), runs (62), hits (88) and stolen bases (29)…Finished second in the RMAC in on-base percentage (.505) and triples (7)…Tied for third in the conference with seven home runs and 38 RBIs…Ranked fourth in the RMAC with 42 RBIs…Began the season with a 28-game hitting streak… Ranked 12th in the nation in steals per game and runs per game at the end of the regular season.
Godman became the first Pack player to receive a Regional Player of the year nod since Tony Wittmus in 2004. His selection gives the Pack a NCBWA All-American in each of the last two seasons. Mike Wagner earned a NCBWA honorable mention All-American selection in 2015.
