GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (October 23, 2015) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at Colorado Mesa, snapping the Pack's three-game win streak Friday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
Amanda Jorgensen (Sr., F, Wailuku, Hawai'i) netted her team leading fifth goal of the season in just the eighth minute of the contest taking an early lead.
CSU-Pueblo held the lead for much of the first half before the Mavericks were awarded a penalty kick in the 31st minute and was successful, tying the game 1-1.
The Mavericks Sarah Pope scored her second goal of the night minutes later in the 36th minute, stealing the lead 2-1.
At halftime CMU lead 6-3 in shot attempts.
The second half had the teams battling back-and-forth, with the Pack firing six shots at the net.
Danelle Dondelinger (So., Mid., Louisville, Colo.) and Sandra Grimaldo (Jr., F, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.) led the Pack with two shots apiece.
ThunderWolves goalkeeper Ann-Marie O'Connell (Fr., Victorville, Calif.) made two saves in facing nine Maverick shots.
CSU-Pueblo (7-6-2, 3-4-1 RMAC) continues its road trip Sunday at Westminster College, kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Dumke Field.
