Jorgensen's overtime goal leads Pack to 1-0 win over Colorado Christian on Senior Day

PUEBLO, Colo. (October 18, 2015) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team ended its home portion of the schedule on a high note Sunday defeating Colorado Christian University 1-0 in overtime at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer Stadium.

Amanda Jorgensen (Sr., F, Wailuku, Hawai'i) netted a beautifully passed ball past the reach of the goalkeeper, one minute into the overtime period, securing the 1-0 win.

Tanna Duling (So., Mid., Pueblo, Colo.) was credited with an assist on the play.

Celebrating Senior Day at the pitch, Pack head coach Paul Regrutto and staff honored the four departing players who played in their final home games for CSU-Pueblo.

Jorgensen, Nicole Ortega (F, Canon City, Colo.), Kim Smith (GK, Glendale, Ariz.), and Miranda Sochacki (D, Bangalow New South Wales) each were honored.

Battling to a scoreless tie through halftime, the visiting Cougars held a 6-4 lead in shots, maintaining possession for most of the period.

CSU-Pueblo offense came alive in the second half, firing several shots in the opening fifteen minutes, putting the Cougars goalkeeper on her heels for much of the half.

Jorgensen lead all players with six shots at the net.

The ThunderWolves defensive line again was stellar led by Terryn Williams (So., D, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) who made good use of her time on the field.

Fending off a flurry of shots in the waning minutes of regulation, CSU-Pueblo carried the momentum into overtime, striking the net just over a minute into extra time.

With the shutout marks the eighth shutout of the season and third in a row for the Pack.

CSU-Pueblo (7-5-2, 3-3-1 RMAC) venture on the road for the final two weeks of the regular season, playing Friday at Colorado Mesa University, kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Walker Field.
