GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (September 29, 2014) ~ The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's golf team concluded day one of the RMAC #2 Tournament, Monday, at the Bookcliff Country Club. After 18 holes, the ThunderWolves are in 10th place with a score of 334, 22 shots behind first-round leader, Dixie State College.
Leina Kim (Jr., Saipan, CNMI) posted the top score of the day for the Pack, concluding the first 18 holes in a tie for sixth. Kim recorded a 5-over 77 to finish four shots behind tournament leader Taylor Walters of Colorado Mesa University.
Coming in two shots behind Kim was Julie Sanchez (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) with a round of 79. Sanchez's 7-over score landed her in a tie for 13th. Samantha Geisick (Fr., Greely, Colo.) finished in a tie for 52nd with a 16-over 88 mark. Natasha Navarro (So., San Antonio, Texas) notched an 18-over mark of 90 to sit in a tie for 64th. Megan McCutcheon (Fr., Monument, Colo.) rounded out the scoring on day one for the Pack, posting a 24-over 96 and finishing in a tie for 80th.
The 36-hole tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
