PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 19, 2014) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team hosted No. 7 Colorado School of Mines Friday in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest and fell 4-1 at the Art and Lorraine Gonzalez Soccer Complex.
The Orediggers (4-0-1, 1-0-0 RMAC) netted their first goal of the game at 23:39 of the first half and used it to propel the road team to three goals within 13:37 of game clock to open a 3-0 lead, which held to the first-half buzzer.
Colorado Mines added a goal at 81:59 before the ThunderWolves broke the tie with an unassisted tally at 85:15 from freshman Danelle Dondelinger (M, Louisville, Colo.), who took a miscue from an Oredigger defender just inside the 18-yard box and placed a ball in the side netting past a diving goalkeeper.
The Mines posted 13 shots on goal, while CSU-Pueblo totaled eight.
Next for the ThunderWolves is another RMAC test at home Sept. 26 versus Colorado Mesa University beginning at 4:30 p.m.
