ThunderWolves fall 2-0 at Regis in First Round of RMAC Tournament

DENVER, Colo. (Regis Soccer Field) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team traveled to Regis University Wednesday and lost to the Rangers 2-0 in the First Round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.

Playing in their first conference tournament since 2008, the sixth-seeded ThunderWolves entered looking for an upset, but a goal by the third-seeded Rangers in the 11th minute silenced the Pack.

CSU-Pueblo held a 6-5 shot advantage at the half, but trailed 3-0 in shots on frame. Kacie Licata (So., Forward, Upland, Calif.) fired three shots in the half, finishing with four shots in the game to lead the Pack.

Playing in Rangers territory for much of the second half, the ThunderWolves just couldn't find the equalizer and Regis extended the lead to 2-0 on a muffed ball in front of the goal with twenty minutes remaining in regulation.

Pack goalkeeper Jenn Rucker (Sr., Renton, Wash.) made two saves, facing eleven shots by the Rangers. She finished her senior season with a 7-9-2 record.

Regis finished with an 11-10 shot advantage and both teams earned four corner kicks in the game.

CSU-Pueblo finishes the season with an overall record of 7-9-2 and finished conference play at 5-7-2. The overall record was the best finish by a Pack team since the 2008 squad went 9-8-2.
