Kim finishes fourth while Pack falls back

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 2, 2013) - Redshirt freshman Leina Kim (RFr., Saipan, CNMI) again turned in a top five finish, shooting a 75 Tuesday to finish tied for fourth at the Grand Canyon Invitational.

Kim cut four strokes from her first round 79 to turn in the 3-over-par 75, the fourth-best second-round score in the 86-member field.  Her scores, however, weren't enough to lift a ThunderWolf squad that struggled to a 13th place showing.  The ThunderWolves turned in a pair of identical 332 team scores over the tournament's two rounds, which was the squad's highest two-round tournament total of the season.

Showing great improvements Tuesday, though, was Julie Sanchez (So., Pueblo, Colo.), who cut three strokes from her first round 83 to shoot an 80 and finish 30th overall.  Sanchez's 19-over-par performance in the tournament was her best tournament score since Sept. 25.

CSU-Pueblo will now return to the friendly confines of Pueblo for the CSU-Pueblo Invitational, which will take place at the Pueblo Country Club.
