GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 16, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo won its second straight tournament Tuesday, claiming a win by 11 strokes at the Maverick Invitational in Grand Junction.
The ThunderWolves led the whole way as three Pack golfers finished in the top ten. Leina Kim (RFr., Saipan, CNMI) finished third with 25-over-par, Michaela Breit (Jr., Greeley, Colo.) was fourth at 26-over-par, and Julie Sanchez (So., Pueblo, Colo.) was eighth 33-over-par.
The scores posted were way above the ThunderWolves' average, but the scores were mostly attributed to treacherous conditions. Rain and wind pushed through the course all Monday and Tuesday, inflating scores.
CSU-Pueblo will aim for its third tournament win - and second straight RMAC title - when it travels to Phoenix next week for the RMAC Championships.
