Pack struggles in first round at Grand Canyon

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 1, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo had four golfers card scores above 80 Monday as the ThunderWolves finished the first round of the Grand Canyon Invitational in 11th place out of 15 teams.

The Pack was led by Leina Kim (RFr., Saipan, CNMI), who shot a 7-over-par 79 to finish the first round tied for 17th place.  She was nine strokes behind Ryanne Haddow of St. Edwards, who shot a 2-under-par 70.

Julie Sanchez (So., Pueblo, Colo.) turned in the Pack's second-best score, shooting an 11-over-par 83.  

The Grand Canyon Invitational features some of the top Division II competition in the nation, including two teams ranked in the top ten nationally by Golfstat.com.  The second and final round of competition concludes Tuesday.
