Denver, Colo. (Gothunderwolves.com Oct. 4, 2013) - The CSU-Pueblo women's soccer team (3-5-0, 0-4-0 RMAC) battled the rain and snow in Denver in attempt to win their first RMAC game of the season.
But the Pack will have to wait for another opportunity for the win after a 3-0 defeat to the Metro State University Roadrunners (6-0-3, 4-0-1 RMAC).
After starting the season 3-0, the Pack has lost their last five games, only scoring one goal during the losing streak, and five goals overall on the season.
During regulation, the Roadrunners outshot the Pack with 25 shots, 14 on goal, resulting in three goals to three shots, zero coming on goal for the ThunderWolves. The Roadrunners also had eight corner kicks to zero for the Pack.
For only the second time this season, Preseason All-RMAC goalkeeper Savannah Thompson (Sr. Upland, Calif) allowed three goals from the opposition. Thompson finished the game with 11 saves in 14 chances.
In the 28th minute, forward Kailyn Provin (Jr. Torrance, Calif.), who has one assist in three starts and eight games played on the season, was injured and did not return.
The Roadrunners took the lead in the 38th minute when Noemy Polanco scored her first goal of the season, on a shot from inside of the box, assisted by Maggie Rojas and Abby Rolph.
The Roadrunners scored again in the 51st minute on another goal from inside of the box by Karisa Price, with an assist by Brandi Farley to take a 2-0 lead.
The Roadrunners took a 3-0 lead in the 57th minute after Brandi Farley scored the third goal from inside of the box, assisted by Karisa Price.
Next up, the ThunderWolves will take on Regis (2-4-1, 0-3-1 RMAC) on Oct 6. at the Rawlings Complex at noon.
