ThunderWolves fall to Division II powerhouse

PUEBLO, COLO. (Gothunderwolves.com - Oct. 25, 2013) Wolfie made an appearance, the crowd was quite and there was an intense aura surrounding the field on Friday.

That is just the type of reception one would expect when the fourth ranked team in Division II comes to town.

The environment however would not be enough, as the ThunderWolves women's soccer team lost to the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers 4-0

"I feel like the energy level wasn't as high as usual," head coach Paul Regrutto said. "The other team was just clinical. Any time they got turned up inside."

Of the four goals scored by the Orediggers on the night, three came from senior forward Anna Evans.

"She is just really clinical. In the first game, we didn't let her turn up. This game she turned up a couple of times," Regrutto said. "When she shot, she scored. She didn't have a lot of shots; she had one shot in the first half. She's an awesome player."

With the shut out, the ThunderWolves were shut out for the third time in the last four games, while also allowing the most goals this season.

"This program is on the rise, so we're starting at a certain level and go from there. It's not about results, it's about getting better," Regrutto said.

The Pack finished the game with 10 shots, three on goal, while the Orediggers finished with 16 shots, eight on goal. The Pack also had one corner kick to four for the Orediggers.

Next up, the ThunderWolves to travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. on Oct. 27 to take on the Colorado Christian Cougars at 1:30 p.m.
