PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Sept. 21, 2011) - The CSU-Pueblo women's soccer team dropped a disappointing game Wednesday afternoon to rival UC-Colorado Springs 1-0. This is the first of two games the Pack have against the Mountain Lions in the Steel and Silver Series.
The Pack struggled to find offense and looked for the perfect shot too many times in the loss. The Mountain Lions were able to score in the 37' after a ball sent into the box that was momentarily lost. The ball bounced around before finding the foot of Lindsay Link who finished in the upper right corner.
Defensively the Pack was solid again allowing only six shots to reach keeper Savannah Thompson (So., Upland, Calif.). The offense for the ThunderWolves started off blazing hot sending five shots in the first half on net to keeper Kelly Schroeder. The second half was a different story with Schroeder only seriously tested once.
The Pack did pressure towards the end of the game sending players forward but an absence of quality looks left the Pack stymied.
The ThunderWolves will hit the road for a pair of games starting Friday at Regis, the game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. They will close out the two-game road trip Sunday when they travel to play Nebraska-Kearney
