ThunderWolves drop conference opener 5-0

Pack gets blasted by Skyhawks on the road

DURANGO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com – Sept. 16, 2011) – After starting off the season blazing hot the ThunderWolves women's soccer team cooled off Friday losing 5-0 to perennial powerhouse Fort Lewis.

The Skyhawks showed why they are the No. 3 team in the nation just three minutes into the game with a goal by Jane Barden off a rebound. The quick goal allowed the Pack to settle into the game but the damage wasn't done.

In the 39' the Skyhawks struck again, this time with a goal by Taylor Tegtmeyer. The scoring didn't cease in the first half as Julia Thompson scored her the first of her two goals on the day.

The second half didn't begin as the Pack wanted when only a minute into the half Emma Cannis received a pass from Hayley Hollenga that she put away. With the game nearing the end Julia Thompson scored her second goal off a pass from Sam Weiss

The Pack will finish off the weekend playing an exhibition against Wyoming. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday in Laramie, Wyoming.
