COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com – Aug. 20, 2010) – The ThunderWolves worked out the cobwebs Friday in an exhibition match with Division I Air Force in Colorado Springs, dropping the match 3-0.

In what amounted to the Falcons' regular season opener, but was still considered an exhibition for the Pack because of NCAA rules, CSU-Pueblo faced a committed Air Force squad that treated the Pack's new keeper, Savannah Thompson (Fr., Upland, Calif.) to a trial by fire in her first collegiate action.

Thompson faced 27 shots and made nine saves.  A true freshman, Thompson is expected to be the Pack's number-one keeper this season.

Jessa Cook (Sr., Idaho Falls, Idaho) got the best looks of any ThunderWolf Friday, uncorking two shots, both on goal, at Air Force keeper Kelly Stambaugh.  It was two of three shots the Pack were credited with Friday, the other coming from freshman Tamra Nee (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii)

CSU-Pueblo's tilt with Air Force was be its one and only bout with Division I competition this preseason, with its exhibition schedule wrapping up next weekend when it takes on Division II opponents West Texas A&M on Aug. 28 and Eastern New Mexico on Aug. 29.
