LAS VEGAS, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 29, 2010) - Road games haven't been pretty for the Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team this season. The road woes continued Friday as they were defeated 3-0 by New Mexico Highlands, pushing the Pack's road record to 1-7 on the season.
Julissa Rodriguez struck first for the Cowgirls scoring her first of two goals on the day off a free kick given up by the ThunderWolves deep in their own territory. Although the Pack relinquished the first goal they played a solid half defensively staying within striking distance of New Mexico Highlands.
But with the good comes the bad and the Pack offense struggled mightily, ending the half with zero shots, while giving up 10 to the Cowgirls.
The Pack would fall 2-0 to New Mexico Highlands in the 54th minute off a goal from Britney Cottrell. Rodriguez, who finished the day with five points, was credited with an assist on Cottrell's goal.
Rodriguez would add her second goal of the afternoon off a penalty kick given up by the Pack, to put the Cowgirls up for good, 3-0.
The Pack will finish off the season Sunday at noon, on the road against Metro State.
