Metro State 4, CSU-Pueblo 1
DENVER, Colo. - The CSU-Pueblo Women's soccer team traveled the
short two hour distance north to take on the #13 Metro State, in
Denver; despite tying the score early in the first half, the
T-Wolves couldn't stop the nationally ranked Roadrunners, losing
4-1.
An early goal scored by the Roadrunners was responded in the
20th minute when Morgan
Purkey (Fr., Pueblo,
Colo.) connected on a 25-yard direct kick to the top
left corner of the goal, for her fourth on the year. That was
all the offense the Pack would be allowed as Metro State's back
defenders helped in keeping the shot count for the T-Wolves to a
minimum, with a final count at 24-6.
Despite the loss, the Pack still remains in the thick of the
RMAC tournament, presently in 7th and just one game out of the
contention for the top six teams who play in the
tournament.
The Pack will return back to Pueblo and host Fort Lewis on
Friday, game time at 4 pm.
