Regis 3, CSU-Pueblo 0
DENVER, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo was on the short end of a 3-0 shutout
by Regis Friday, as an offensive battle broke for the Rangers.
The two squads combined for 35 shots and 16 shots on goal, but
only Regis' chances managed to hit the net.
The match was deadlocked at 0-0 going into halftime, with the
Pack leading the shots battle 9-7, before the Rangers began hitting
paydirt. A header by Regis' Chelsea Reichard broke the
ice in the game's 55th minute, and another goal seven minutes later
created an even bigger hole for the ThunderWolves. In the
second half, Regis outshot the Pack 13-6.
With the loss, CSU-Pueblo falls to 3-8-2 on the season and 2-6-1
in RMAC play. The Pack will look to secure a win Sunday when
it takes on UC-Colorado Springs for four points in the
all-important "Steel and Silver Series," the multi-sport
competition between CSU-Pueblo and UCCS. UCCS currently leads
the series by an 8-0 margin.
