The CSU-Pueblo Women's soccer team battled the Colorado
Christian Cougars to a 1-1 tie in Lakewood, Colo. on Sunday.
The T-Wolves had all but sealed the victory in competing with
the Cougar attack offensively, leading 1-0 going into the last
minute of the game, a CSU-Pueblo foul which was called for a
penalty kick, allowed the home team a chance at tying the game,
which they did.
The tied game was not before a first half goal in the 40th
minute from Leanne
Carberry (Jr., Idledale,
Colo.) scoring her third of the year. Brittany
Montgomery (Fr., El Paso,
Texas) picked up the assist on the feed on the
breakaway to the goal for the Pack. The game
would remain that way until the dreadful penalty kick,
tying the game at one apiece.
CSU-Pueblo with the loss falls to 3-7-2 (2-5-1 RMAC) and
presently is on the outside looking in, at a shot at the RMAC
Tournament. They will look to rebound when they continue on
their season long 3-game road trip when they travel to Denver to
play Regis on Friday at 1 pm.
